Andrea Renda

Andrea RendaSenior Research Fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), Bruxelles, and Lecturer at LUISS Guido Carli University, in Rome, as well as a Senior Research Fellow at LUISS’ Law and Economics Lab. He is a specialist of regulatory affairs and competition policy. Over the past few months, he focused in particular on regulatory impact assessment and the regulation of media and telecom markets.

Since 2006, he lectures on “Advanced Topics in Competition and Regulation” at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam within the European Master in Law and Economics. He is an external consultant to the National Economic Research Associates (NERA) and currently sits in the Scientific Committee of the Institute for the Economics of the Media of the Turin-based Fondazione Rosselli. He is also responsible for the “Law and Technology” area of the Italian Fondazione COTEC and, since 2006, Coordinator of the European Network for Better Regulation (ENBR).

He is the leading researcher within the Framework Contracts signed by CEPS with the European Parliament and Rapporteur of the CEPS Task Force on Electronic Communications. At CEPS, he also deals with competition policy issues. Since 2004, he is Economic Counsellor of the Italian Board of Airlines Representatives (IBAR). He is currently a member of the European Association of Law and Economics, a founding member of the Italian Association of Law and Economics and a member of the steering committee of the Italian Intellectual Property Law Association (IP Law).

He was a Visiting Professor at the Media Law Center of the New York Law School and Research Fellow at the University of Hamburg. He is the author of several journal articles and papers, mostly focused on industry regulation, comparative law and economics, the law and economics of intellectual property, antitrust/competition policy, inter-firm relationships and consumer protection.
