Jolyon Howorth

John HoworthJolyon Howorth is Jean Monnet Professor of European Politics at the University of Bath and Visiting Professor of Political Sciences at Yale University. He is also Faculty Affiliate at the Center for European Studies at Harvard University, Adjunct Professor of Political Science at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Visiting Professor at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris, as well as Senior Research Fellow in Strategic Studies at the Institut Français des Relations Internationales (IFRI) in Paris.He got his Ph.D. in History at the University of Reading in 1971. He has been Professor of French Civilization at the University of Bath, Visiting Professor at Paris III-Sorbonne Nouvelle and Consortium Visiting Professor of European Politics at New York University, Columbia University and New School University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, UK, and of the Institut Français d’Histoire Sociale, a Member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the European Institute of Public Administration in Maastricht (Netherlands) and of the Advisory Board of the Centre for Studies in Security and Diplomacy at the University of Birmingham, UK. He is a Member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, of the American Political Science Association, the Royal Institute for International Affairs and the European Union Studies Association.
