Obama’s 2012 Election Campaign
LUISS School of Government has hosted Robert M.Shrum, Senior Fellow, Wagner School of Public Service, NYU to talk abou the 2012 Obama Election Campaign.
Robert M. Shrum is a Senior Fellow at the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at NYU. As an American political consultant, he worked as a senior advisor to the presidential campaigns of Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004. He has been a senior advisor to Ehud Barak of Israel, the British Labour Party, and Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern. He began his career as a speechwriter for George McGovern, Jimmy Carter and then Ted Kennedy, working on the famous speech Kennedy delivered to the Democratic National Convention in 1980. From 1986 to 2004, he was the media and strategic consultant to 30 winning U.S. Senate campaigns, 10 winning Governor’s campaigns, and the Mayors of virtually every major American city. Shrum also publishes widely in various magazines and newspapers such as The Week Magazine, New York Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, The New Republic and Slate. His political memoire No Excuses: Concessions of a Serial Campaigner, published in June 2007, was a national bestseller.

Awarding cerimony of the Laurea Honoris Causa in Political Sciences to Prof. Robert D. Putnam, Harvard Kennedy School of Government
The Faculty of Political Sciences and the School of Government of LUISS Guido Carli have been pleased to annouce the awarding of the Laurea Honoris Causa in Political Sciences to Prof. Robert D . Putnam, Peter and Isabel Malkin Professor of Public Policy, Harvard Kennedy School of Government. The cerimony was held on 17 May 2011 at the Viale Pola Campus of LUISS Guido Carli.

2011 ECPR Capital Lecture: Religion, Democracy and Civil Liberties
This year’s European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) Capital Lecture Series was held in Rome on 21 January 2011. This event was co-sponsored by the Italian Political Science Association (SISP), the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and the host institution, Luiss School of Government.

Prof. Sergio Fabbrini: challenge for new problem solvers
Prof. Sergio Fabbrini, LUISS School of Government Director, is going to explain the aims of LUISS School of Governement»: a school for graduate training scheme, education, for a public elite as well as for a private one, but dealing public institutions. A project not only for Italy, but for Europe totally: «theoretical», but with a principal purpose: solving problems and creating «problem solvers». (see video)
