Rome is a unique city with a unique pluri-millennial history. Rome has been the seat of political and religious powers that projected its role far beyond the Italian peninsula. From Rome radiated ideas and values that have shaped crucial aspects of Western civilization. Understanding the history of Rome means getting a lot of understanding about the world we still live in today.
The Summer Program: Power on Stage. Politics, Religion and Arts in Rome is an intensive course offered by Luiss School of Government. It aims at giving students an interpretative path to fully understand the pluri-millennial history of Rome and the importance of its cultural legacy, by applying a highly engaging analytical approach to the historical intertwining of political institutions, religious power and cultural policy.
This will be done through lectures by prominent scholars of this field and contextual visits to archeological sites and museums.
