The Master’s will take place in presence in the Rome campus of Luiss Guido Carli University, with a series of compulsory study visits abroad with our partner institutions, in Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and Spain. The program’s builds on innovative teaching methodologies and on a combination of courses taught by leading international academics and experienced practitioners.

Over the next decade, the broader Mediterranean is set to become an increasingly important macro-region for the global economy. Growing connectivity and trade between Europe, Africa and Asia, will boost the economic importance of the Mediterranean, while near-shoring strategies of European companies will likely create new growth dynamics between its northern and southern shores. The geopolitical and geo-economic relevance of the broader region will also be positively affected by the ongoing energy and technology transitions, with the emergence of new win-win opportunities for all stakeholders. At the same time an effective governance of transnational challenges such as climate change or security will require deeper cooperation between all countries in the broader region. Ongoing and upcoming developments point to growing employment opportunities for young professionals with knowledge and expertise in Mediterranean affairs.
Our new Master’s programme in Mediterranean Cooperation and Security provides a comprehensive understanding of the multi-level interdependence that will characterise the future of the macro-region. The Master also tackles key cross-cutting issues in contemporary relations between Mediterranean countries, such as the political economy, climate change, energy transition, security, migration, and culture. It offers a unique interdisciplinary education for future professionals and prepares them to a career in which they will be able to enhancing political, economic, and cultural cooperation. The Master’s programme also provides its students with a unique set of knowledge and skills to make them capable of shaping innovative policies.
