At FAO Headquarters in Rome, students participated in a simulated session of the FAO Council during the second edition of the Luiss UN Model Programme, organized by the Luiss School of Government under the Memorandum of Understanding between FAO and Luiss.
The student-delegates tackled the hidden costs of global agrifood systems, climate change, and food-related health challenges, highlighting the critical link between food security and climate action. This initiative empowers students to navigate the complexities of international relations and equips them with the tools to promote sustainability as a key pillar of human security.
With broad international participation, the programme also aims to build a global network of future leaders, ready to engage in political debate and contribute to global governance.
Speakers included Maurizio Martina, FAO Deputy Director-General; Fatouma Seid, PSU Deputy Director; Daniela Corona, Director of the Luiss UN Model Programme; and Antonio Majocchi, Luiss Deputy Rector for Internationalization.
