Mission

Held at the Luiss School of Government, the Policy Observatory organizes study activities, produces analyses, and provides recommendations addressed in particular to national and local government institutions. Facilitated by its Scientific Committee, its activities are subjected to rigorous prior technical-scientific scrutiny.

The Committee includes leading figures from academia and institutions, bringing together a heterogeneous pool of knowledge and skills that allow the Policy Observatory to intervene in the applied research debate on public policy and its intersection with economics, governance, and geostrategy.

The Policy Observatory prioritizes a multidisciplinary approach to the formulation and evaluation of public policy with the aim of bridging the gap between theory and practice. It stands at the interface between academic research and institutional and professional best practices and integrates its discussions into the broader international framework that influences public policy in Italy, with the aim of producing accessible content and informing public debate on the topics of interest.

In pursuing its objectives and facilitating the intellectual and scientific exchange in its field of applied research, the Policy Observatory establishes synergic collaborations with other entities, both within Luiss and externally in Italy and at international level.
