2024 Edition

FAO and Luiss are co-organizing also this year’s event.

The theme selected for the upcoming 2024 UN Model Programme is the “True cost of Food Security”. Based on the FAO Report on True cost accounting applications for agrifood systems policymakers - Background paper for The State of Food and Agriculture 2023, a group of FAO Council Members have requested to add an item on the agenda of the FAO Council to address global agrifood systems’ hidden costs, contributing to climate change, ecosystem damage, the continued poverty of workers in agrifood systems and the occurrence of food-related health issues. Members of the Council will debate on the impacts of the dysfunctional agrifood systems in driving the hidden economics of food security.

The 2024 UN Model Programme will start on 16 September with the online training. The calendar is available here.
