Luiss Guido Carli University - School of Government is proud to announce that the Winter School "The Parliaments of Europe in Democracy Promotion and Constitutional Transitions" (PaDeCo) has been founded within the Erasmus Intensive Programmes.

The Winter School will be coordinated by the School of Government, with the support of the following partners: the University of London - Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, the University of Bordeaux - Institut d’Etudes Politiques and the University of Hull - Department of Politics and International Studies.

It will be open to the participation of students willing not only to deepen their theoretical knowledge in this field, but also to acquire operative tools in order to work in national and supranational institutions as well as NGOs involved in democracy promotion and consolidation. To this end, it will provide its participants with the following learning outcomes:

- advanced understanding of the economic, political and constitutional dimensions of democratic transitions, with special reference to European conditionality

- full perception of the role of parliaments in the democratic and constitutional transitions by a twofold perspective: on one side, verification of their “internal” level of democracy, which is directly linked with the quality of a democracy; on the other, analysis of their participation in the processes of democratization.
