Giampiero Massolo is a career diplomat  and  currently is the President of the Institute for International Policy Studies - ISPI. He is also President of Mundys (since 29 April 2022).

He has served as Director General of the Department of Information for Security of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (2012-2016), as Sherpa of the President of the Council of Ministers for the G8 and G20 Summits (2008-2009) and as Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2007-2012).

He has served in the Italian Embassies to the Holy See and Moscow, as well as at the Permanent Representation to the European Union.He was the holder of the course 'National interest and national security in a complex world' at Sciences Po University in Paris. He holds the course 'National interest, national security and international relations' at the School of Government of the LUISS University in Rome.
