From the classroom at Luiss to space: hands-on experience for students of the Master in Space Law and Geopolitics
Students of the Master in Space Law and Geopolitics had the opportunity to take part in a unique experience, gaining direct insight into the operational dynamics of Defence in Space.
During the visit to the Interforce Centre of Management and Control SICRAL, personnel illustrated the strategic role of Italy’s space assets, exploring key topics such as satellite support for both military and civilian operations on Earth. Among the case studies discussed was the SICRAL 1 satellite, which in 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of its launch into orbit—an example of Italy’s commitment in the space domain.
The visit marked the conclusion of the Space Safety and Security module, coordinated by Quentin Verspieren, providing students with a practical and applied perspective on one of the most strategic and rapidly evolving sectors at the global level.
An experience that reflects the Master’s approach: combining legal and geopolitical expertise with direct engagement opportunities alongside key players in the field.
