Identikit of the foreign policy of the second Macron presidency
In France, the re-election of Emmanuel Macron to the Presidency of the Republic provides the opportunity of increasing the foreign policy incisiveness of a country that can be described as a 'medium-sized power of world influence.' This role derives from cultural and geographical, as well as military and strategic, factors. Therefore, this Policy Brief analyses several dossiers on which Paris will be forced, also due to external events, to undertake a profound critical reflection, as in the case of its involvement in Africa and the new role played by NATO in European defense.
